A good friend of mine works as a professional jazz singer in Shanghai. She recently tried to access my iRevolution blog but without success. However, she did note that Wikipedia is finally accessible as well as other blog sites. The Great Chinese Firewall appears to be filtering my blog. Shucks. In better news though, I successfully defended my dissertation proposal today, so I can finally get back to blogging on a more regular basis.

Congratulations on your successful defense!
That is all….
first of all, congrats on the defense 🙂
China’s great firewall seems to be blocking the entire wordpress.com platform….one solution for your friend in Shanghai is to read your posts through an rss reader like bloglines or google reader…
Thanks Amine!
On the Firewall, I was under the impression from the recent study, “Access Denied”, that China was now using technology that simply blocked blogs with specific words, i.e., no longer blocking entire blog domain names. In any case, good to know there are workarounds! Thanks for sharing!
